816,274. Universal joints. NUTONE Inc. July 16, 1957, No. 22531/57. Class 80 (2). [Also in Group XXIII] A flexible coupling 31 for connecting the driven shaft 18 of a knife-sharpener (see Group XXIII) to a drive-shaft 13 comprises a drive cup 32 which may be secured to the shaft 18 by swaging over a square end on the shaft after its insertion into a corresponding aperture in the cup. A resilient collar 33 and a drive coupler 34 formed with a flange 35 are both mounted within the drive cup 32 and a rim 36 thereon is swaged into engagement with the flange. The coupler 34 may be formed with a hexagonal socket for engagement with the drive-shaft 13.
