In a flexible shaft coupling straight-sided rubber or like blocks 3 are attached at their ends to V-shaped metal plates 4 so as to form a unit of polygonal shape the unit being sprung over inclined teeth 5 on wedge-sectior axially-projecting arms 2 of the shaft spiders 1 so that the plates 4 are held in grooves 2a of the arms 2 with the blocks compressed.
