Abstract
1283723 Universal joints KAMAN AEROSPACE CORP 14 Oct 1969 50383/69 Heading F2U A universal joint between a driving and a driven member (e.g. shafts 10, 18) comprises flexible elements each comprising an open quadrilateral integral frame (e.g. square or oblong) and each arranged to receive the torque to be transmitted at one pair of diagonally opposite corners and to pass it on at the other pair, the diagonals of each element being spaced axially. The end of one shaft 10, 56 may extend to encircle the end of either the other shaft 18 or an extension 50 fitted thereto, and a resilient bush 62 may be fitted as shown.
