Abstract
814,373. Stoppers. EDWARDES, D. M. May 16, 1957 [May 16, 1956, Jan. 9, 1957], Nos. 15184/56 and 903/57. Class 125(3). A screw plug stopper 5 which engages a threaded metal socket 1 in a rubber hot-water bottle 2 has a frusto-conical leading part 7 which enters and radially compresses a rubber ring 4 located in a recess formed by a flange 3 of the socket. In a modification the end of the stopper is hemispherical. In another modification, Fig. 3, the travel of the stopper is limited by a cross bar 9 across the inner end of the socket. Alternatively a flange on the stopper may contact the outer end of the socket.
