814,143. Intermittent toothed gearing. SHEPARD, F. H. Aug. 20, 1956, No. 25380/56. Class 80 (1). An intermittent toothed drive comprises a driven shaft 46 carrying a disc 48 with arcuate recesses around its periphery and axially extending teeth 52-59. These teeth are adapted to be engaged by an elongated tooth 98 on a member 84 which is supported on a crank-pin 32 on a disc 28on the driving shaft 26 and has an extension 94 guided in a diametrical slot in a member 80 on a rotatably supported stub shaft 78 coaxial with the driven shaft 46. This arrangement ensures that the tooth 98 is always maintained radial to the axis of the driven shaft. The driven shaft is locked during the non-driving period by a part cylindrical surface 30 on the driving disc 28 engaging with the recesses 50. Movement when the tooth 98 engages with the teeth 52-59 is allowed by a cut-away portion 34.
