Abstract

806,312. Laminated springs. BROCKHOUSE & CO. Ltd. J. Jan. 24, 1957 [Feb. 2, 1956]. No. 3276/56. Class 108(3) The invention relates to a laminated spring of the kind in which three-fulllength leaves 10, 11 and 12, are provided, the top leaf 10 being provided at each end with an eye 13 having a reinforcing clip 15. According to the invention, the lower end 18 of each clip 15 and the adjacent end of the. second leaf 11 slidably interengage, the end 18 extending substantially to a saddle clip 17, and the end of the leaf 11 extending to a position lying within the two vertical planes tangent to the eye 13. The end 18 is V-shaped and engages a correspondingly shaped recess in the end of the leaf 11, the mouth of which has parallel sides 21, 21, which form a guide for relative sliding movement of the clip 15. The leaf 30 may be grooved to engage a pin 29 of the clip 17. Alternatively the U-shaped portion of the clip may be of round cross-section material and the upper surface of the clip 15 may be correspondingly grooved (Fig. 4, not shown).
