Abstract
804,828. Disintegrating apparatus. ALLIENNE, V. G. R. Feb. 7, 1957 [Feb. 8, 1956], No 4307/57. Class 59 [Also in Group XXX] Apparatus for breaking down lumps in and distributing pulverulent materials comprises an apertured disc 6 interposed between the base 2 of a supply container for pulverulent material and a distributing member 3, the disc 6 being oscillatable in its own plane. The apertures 7 in the disc 6 have projecting faces 8 for breaking down lumps in the pulverulent material. The disc 6 forms part of an assembly which comprises a hopper 9, fast with the disc, and a spout 10 which conveys the pulverulent material into a fan rotor 4. The assembly is locked at 11 on a pin 12 which is pivotally mounted between two removable arms 13, 14. To oscillate the disc 6, the assembly is fast with an arm 15 which is co-operable with a cam stud 17 mounted eccentrically on the end of the driven shaft 5 of the fan rotor. The output of pulverulent material from the hopper 9 is regulatalble by means of an obturating member 21 slidably mounted an the pivot pin 12, the position of the member 21 along the pivot pin being controlled by means of a pivotally-mounted lever 24. The lever has a fork 23 engaged by the lower end of a stirrup 22 the upper end of which is secured to the member 21. The fork is mounted between two bearing plates 26, 26a which are recessed internally so as to form detention means for locking the lever in the selected position. The base 2 is mounted obliquely in a groove 27 in the casing 1 and is provided with curved pivotallymounted straps 28 adjustable by screws 32 for fixing the base in the desired position relatively to the casing so that the apparatus can conveniently be carried on the person. The fan rotor may be replaced by other distributing means. The disc 6 may be replaced by a plurality of superposed discs which may have fixed arms or other discs interposed therebetween to co-operate with the movable discs so as to have a shearing effect
