[Also in Groups VIII, XVI, XVII, and XVIII] Feeding means for granular or powdered material includes a drum 63 rotating about its horizontal axis in the lower part of a hopper 60 and formed over one half of its periphery with longitudinal slits 64. The drum agitates the material and delivers it to measuring chambers 62 of inverted conical shape formed in the base of the hopper. The closed half of the drum periphery closes the top of the measuring chambers 62 while a slide valve 28 operated through linkages 81, 79, 84 and 70 by a cam 66<SP>1</SP> on the drum shaft opens the lower ends of the measuring chambers. The drum 63 is mounted in vertically adjustable bearings.
