803,142. Draught excluders; mouldings. BRIGHT, T. J. R. Dec. 20, 1956 [Dec. 21, 1955], No. 36675/55. Classes 20(3) and 20(4) A draught excluding strip, beading or moulding comprises an inverted U-shaped component 1 composed of rubber or other soft but resilient material, a continuous clip or a series of short clips or tags, of inverted U shape with unequal limbs 4, 5, the clips or clips embracing the rubber component 1 and having the shorter limb 4 entering a slot 3 therein whilst the longer limb 5 has inwardly directed tangs 9 which frictionally engage the flange on which the strip is mounted. A covering 7 of textile material having a pile surface encloses the clip or clips, one edge 10 being turned inwardly and upwardly and secured by the tangs 9, the opposite edge being held in the slot 3 by tangs 8 on the shorter limb 4. A lip 11 contacts the flange to prevent water entering the clip. In the case of a draught excluder an effective portion 2 of leaf or other form is provided, but this is omitted for beadings or mouldings. In another form, the edge of the covering 7 which enters slot 3 is held therein by means of teeth formed on one wall of the slot, assisted, if necessary, by adhesive. The clip or clips then have the tangs 8 omitted. Specification 649,137 is referred to.
