Abstract

801,198. Resilient mountings. METALASTIK, Ltd. Oct. 26, 1956 [Dec. 8, 1955], No. 35325/55. Class 108(3) The invention relates to springs in which a rubber sandwich 11 having an interleaf 13 is located between outer and inner coaxial frusto-conical members 9, 10. According to the invention, a pair of springs of this kind are co-axially arranged with their inner pair of members 10, 10, coupled together for common movement, the outer pairs of members 9, 9, being coupled together for common movement independently of the members 10, the pair of spring sandwiches 11 being loaded through the interleaves 13, 13. As shown, applied to the support of a nose-suspended traction motor of an electric locomotive, one interleaf 13 is formed with outwardly directed lugs (not visible in the Figure) for connection to the motor casing 5. The other interleaf 13 is similarly bolted to a support member 6. The outer members 9 are coupled together by a hoop 15, and a bolt 14 connects the members 10.
