Abstract

800,230. Differential gearing. N.S.U. WERKE A.G. Dec. 13, 1956 [Dec. 13, 1955], No. 38055/56. Class 80 (2). Differential spur gearing for motor car halfshafts has its two driven sun gears 3 freely rotatable upon a central onepiece support spindle 2. A driving toothed ring 1 is fast with the central spindle 2 and carries interengaging planet pinions on pins 6 supported at their ends in drawn sheet metal shields 8. In a modification, Fig. 3 (not shown), the end shields 8 are rotatably supported by bearings in the differential casing 5 and the toothed driving ring 1 is independent of the central support spindle 2.
