Abstract

799,991. Valves. ADAMS, Ltd., A. March 9, 1956, No. 7541/56. Addition to 771,564. Class 135. The valve of the parent Specification is modified by the formation of the flange 10 by which the gland bush 9 is clamped in the valve body at the lower end of the bush so that a minimum area of the latter is exposed to the pressure of the controlled fluid. The flange 10 is engaged by a sleeve 11a which is held in position by a nut 11. As a further modification, the movable valve element 7 which terminates a stainless steel spindle 6, has a flat end 7a coacting with a slightly resilient seat, e.g. of nylon.
