Abstract

799,350. Wall &e. coverings; roofing. MARCHANT, D. M., and HARRIS, P. M. Dec. 28, 1956 [Sept. 29, 1955], No. 27706/55. Class 20(4) In a cladding system for securing to the structural framework of a building wherein sheet material 4 is spanned between laths 2 of I-section and secured at the edges thereof between the flanges 5, 6 of the laths, the edges of adjacent sheets are pressed against one of the flanges 5 of the laths on opposite sides of the webs 1 by the wings 8 of saddle clips 7 of spring steel or aluminium alloy mounted on the other flanges 6, the tops of the clip being offset from the flanges 6 to provide clearances 9 for the reception of end portions of hangers 10 by which the system is hung from the framework. As shown, the projecting ends of the hangers are turned over on to the clips, and the hangers are hooked at 11 over the purlins 12. Laths are arranged between each pair of laths 2 to support the transverse edges of the sheets, those edges being secured by clips 7.
