Abstract
The invention comprises N-picolinoyl-phthalic acid hydrazide of the formula: <FORM:0798846/IV (b)/1> and a process for the manufacture thereof by reacting a -pyridine carboxylic acid hydrazide with phthalic acid anhydride, the reaction being carried out in water or an organic solvent at a temperature between 50 DEG and 100 DEG C. In examples a -pyridine carboxylic acid hydrazide is reacted with phthalic acid, using water and dimethyl formamide as solvents, to yield N-picolinoyl-phthalic acid hydrazide.
