797,221. Locks. CEANDESS, Ltd. July 25, 1956 [Sept. 2, 1955], No. 25245/55. Class 44 [Also in Group XVII] A closure cap for a petrol tank or other liquid container comprises in combination a body part 3, having a central boss 6 formed with a bore, a barrel lock 7 mounted for angular movement in the outer end of the bore, at least one catch-piece 12 mounted at the inner end of the boss for movement in a radial direction, a conical seating formed in the inner end of the bore, and a conical member 8 mounted in the inner end of the bore and urged by a spring 9 into engagement with the seating- to prevent the escape of liquid around the lock 7. the member 8 being drivably connected to the lock 7 and provided with cam means 11 to move the catch-piece 12. Two catch-pieces 12 are provided in a diammetrical recess in the inner end of the boss 6 and are urged radially inwardly of the latter by spring 15 engaging pegs 14 on the boss 6 and housed in slots 13 in the catch-pieces, the inner end of the boss 6 being provided with a cover 10. In the locked position, the catch-pieces 12 engage under a flange 16 in the inlet 5 of the liquid container. The cap has a flange 4 provided with means to interlock, on partial rotation, with means on the inlet 5, before locking of the cap is effected.
