Abstract
796,611. Sliding clasp fasteners. SAUNT, J. A. Dec. 19, 1956 [Sept. 24, 1955], No. 27267/55. Class 44 A device to prevent jamming when closing a sliding clasp fastener comprises a blade 1 terminating in a curved tongue 2, and a hook 14 pivoted to the blade. As described, the hook is mounted on a central wall 3 and is spring-urged 12 towards a projection 18 formed on the blade 1. The wall 3 extends through the tongue 2 and a ring 6 is attached to its end. In operation, the blade is inserted beneath the slider of a sliding clasp fastener, and the hook 14 engages the puller tab 16. The fastener is then closed by pulling the ring 6; the blade 1 prevents material beneath the slider being caught, and material projecting through the fastener aperture 19 is urged downwardly and beneath the blade 1 by the tongue 2.
