Abstract
669,485. Lids with spring fastenings BRABY & CO., Ltd., F., and HANCOCK, R. W. April 11, 1950. [April 25, 1949] No. 10968/49. Class 66. [Also in Group XXV] A fastener for the lid 3 of a container 1 comprises a strip 8 of spring metal secured at 9 to the lid, bent at 10 to pass through an opening 6 in the depending skirt 4 of the lid and formed with a right-angle bend 11 to engage under a beaded edge 2 of the container. The catch is released by finger pressure under the extension 13 of the spring. A lip 7 on the lower edge of the opening 6 abuts the spring if an attempt is made to remove the lid without releasing the catch. The spring may alternatively, comprise one or more resilient wires.
