Abstract

796,519. Clips. BLOMME, J. V. Feb. 1, 1956, [Feb. 7, 1955], No. 3237/56. Class 44 [Also in Group XIV] A hair slide comprises a base 1 and a fastener 3 pivotally mounted near one end of the base and co-operating with a detachable spring 6 to grip the hair, the base remote from the pivot being formed with oppositely directed jaws 13, 14 which latch the fastener in operative position. An ornametal plate 2 is mounted on the base which is bent to provide bearings 5 for the fastener and is slotted at 10 to form strips 11, 12 each formed with an integral latching jaw, and an operating lug 15, 16. The lugs are pressed towards each other to release the fastener which is automatically opened by the action of abutments 17 of the spring. In a modification the jaws are biased away from each other and in the latched position, engage in an aperture in the fastener.
