Abstract

795,199. Gas filters. BIVAC AIR CO., Ltd., and BERRY, E. D. Aug. 17, 1956 [May 25, 1955], No. 15049/55. Class 8(2). In a gas filtering apparatus comprising a plurality of inward flow outwardly distended porous bags located in a casing 1, Fig. 1 having a dust-laden gas inlet 2, a clean gas outlet 15 and a dust collecting hopper 3, each bag is divided by stitch lines 13, Fig. 2, into longitudinally extending pockets 6 in which are located coil springs 7 and which are integral at their open ends with a common header 8 having internal distending bars (not shown). All the headers are closed at one end and open into a clean gas duct 5 which in turn discharges through the outlet 15. Alternatively each bag may be divided into sleeves opening at opposite ends into integral headers.
