Abstract

939,641. Filtering gases. SVENSKA FLAKTFABRIKEN. A. B. July 9, 1962 [July 12, 1961], No. 26223/62. Class 8(2). Means for cleaning dust-laden gases comprises filter cells 1 each of which consists of a vertically disposed cylindrical body 13 of steel wire or net cloth the surface of which is waved or pleated and a screen cloth 14 which is secured to the body only along the crests 13a of the waves or pleats, the cells 1 being disposed within a casing 2 provided with a suction fan 6 and with valves 9 and 10 which are adjustable to temporarily reverse the direction of flow of the gas through the cells 1 for cleaning the filters by shaking the cloth 14. The casing 2 has a gas inlet 3 and a gas outlet 8, a conveyer 11 being provided for removing dust through an outlet 12. The valves 9 and 10 may be dispensed with by making the fan 6 reversible.
