Class 136(3) A frame for lightweight motor scooters consists of one single pressed sheet steel structure arranged in two symmetrical parts welded together along the lengthwise axis of the frame and comprising a sleeve 3 for the steering column, a longitudinal supporting beam 1 having a rectangular section, the rear wheel guard 5 and a bridge arch 6 acting as an upper connection between the fender and the beam. On the supporting beam are arranged the foot rest 1<SP>1</SP> and a swinging pivot 9 for an engine unit having a horizontal cylinder, and a torsion bar 10 for the elastic suspension of the engine unit, the fender providing'a support for the spare wheel and on the bridge arch are provided the front and rear saddle supports 12, 13, while within the empty space of the bridge arch there is provision for the fuel tank forming one single body with a small trunk unit 11. In order to obtain a streamlined effect two pressed sheet steel panels may be fixed in grooves (Fig. 5), provided in the lengthwise direction of the bridge arch 6 and rear wheel guard 5.
