Abstract

793,649. Transducers. MINNEAPOLISHONEYWELL REGULATOR CO. Nov. 8, 1955 [Nov. 8, 1954], No. 31888/55. Class 40 (1). In an assembly (e.g. a gyro) comprising two relatively movable parts, one part is mounted on the other through the intermediary of an electrical pick-off which transmits electrical .signals dependent upon the relative movement of the parts and includes a bearing allowing relative rotation of the rotor and the stator of the pickoff, said rotor and stator being detachably secured to said two parts so that the pick-off can be mounted on the assembly as a unit without disturbing the alignment of the rotor and stator. As shown, the gimbal 12 of a gyro is journalled at the base 14 through the intermediary of a pick-off in a housing 22 which fits into a recess 16 in the base. This housing carried the stator 32 of the pick-off and has an inner flange 22 mounted by means of a bearing 26 on a shaft 42 which is attached to the gimbal at 48 and 50 and carries the pick-off rotor 36.
