[Classes 97 (ii) and 97 (iii)] A flight indicator for aircraft comprises a gyrovertical in which the rotor case is supported in the gimbal frame by arms or brackets extending from the case and having an annular clearance between the case and its bearings and a directionally-controlled side reading compass card mounted in the annular clearance for rotation about a vertical axis located on the rotor case so that it may be read in a stabilized plane through the point of intersection of the gimbal axes. An embodiment is described which is substantially identical with that described in Specification 599,607. Specification 574,848 also is referred to.
