792,398. Motor-vehicle driving gear. GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION. May 14, 1956 [May 18, 1955], No. 14904/56. Class 79(2) [Also in Group XXIV] A motor-vehicle transmission comprising a series arrangement between the engine and an output sleeve 293 of a two-phase torque converter 237; a forward-neutral reverse planet gear 266, 282; and a three or six ratio planet gear 292, 311, all fluid-pressure operated under manual control (see Group XXIV), is provided with a power take-off shaft 341, the forward end of which may be splined directly to the turbine shaft 247 of the torque-converter, or to the intermediate output shaft 262 of the reverse gear 266, 282, the latter connection providing reversible power take-off. Fig 3, not shown, has two concentric independent power take-offs, driven respectively by the torque-converter and the reverse gear.
