[Also in Group XXXI] In a transmission for tractors with a power take-off shaft which can be driven either at a speed proportional to the engine speed or at a speed dependent on the speed of travel, a clutch sleeve 13 having internal and external splines is provided in the power take-off drive by which clutch an auxiliary shaft 19 connected to the driving-engine through a friction coupling and toothed wheel transmission can be coupled to a driving axle if required. In the position shown, wherein the clutch 13 is moved as far to the left as possible by a shift fork 17, an output shaft 12 and the auxiliary shaft 19 are clutched together. In a second, central, position of the clutch when the shift fork is vertical, Fig. 8 (not shown), the output shaft 12 is driven from a spur gear 16 through a continuously-variable ratio hydraulic gear and a two-stage reduction gearing at a speed dependent on the speed of travel. In a third position, when the clutch sleeve 13 is moved to the right, Fig. 10 (also not shown), a mechanical connection by-passing the torque converter is formed between the auxiliary shaft 19 and the axle drive.
