Abstract
791,466. Reciprocating pumps. WEBER, E. [trading as E. WEBER FABRIK HYDRAULISCHER APPARATE]. March 16, 1956 [March 17, 1955], No. 8394/56. Class 102(1). [Also in Group XXX] An hydraulic jack 1 is extended and contracted by an hydraulic pump 2 driven by a pneumatic motor 3, the pump and motor being secured one behind the other, to the rear of the jack. The pump has a double piston 22, 22a which is reciprocated by the piston 18 of the pneumatic motor 3 in low and high pressure cylinders 25, 25a, which are connected through non-return ball valves 26, 32 and a manual control valve 33 between a reservoir 23 and the working chambers in the jack cylinder 37. If the pressure in the cylinder 37 exceeds a predetermined value a valve 42 is automatically operated to byepass the fluid from the cylinder 25 back to the reservoir ; thus causing the jack to operate under the action of the high pressure stage of the pump only. In a modification, Fig. 7 (not shown), a separate auxiliary hand pump is provided in the pump body. In a further modification, Fig. 8, a single pump may be operated by either a handle 13 or the piston rod 55 of a transversely arranged pneumatic motor 3.
