Abstract
789,115. Band clips. MORAN, M., [trading as AUTOMATIC SAFETY DEVICES]. June 4, 1956 [April 14, 1956], No. 11410/56. Class 44 A band clip for a tube comprises a band 1 having a tautening and locking lever 3 pivotally mounted or adapted to be pivotally mounted on a first end 2a thereof and threaded through an opening in a second end 2 whereby the lever 3 can be turned about its pivot in a direction away from the band pulling the second end 2 into taut overlapping relationship with the first end 2a, the lever being curved to lie when in the tautened position, around the tube and provided with notches or teeth 5 on its concave edge or face to engage the edge of the hole in the second end 2 and lock the band in the taut position embracing the tube. As shown, the band is in the form of a wire link and the lever 3 is a fiat plate. In modifications, the lever is respectively pivoted to the link by means of a recess formed at that end of the lever, Fig. 8 (not shown,) and is of channel form, Fig. 7 (not shown). In another form Fig. 3 (not shown) the band is a flat springy strip having a slot at one end through which the pivoted end of the lever is passed.
