[Also in Group XXIX] A vane wheel water meter of the type described in the parent Specification comprising a casing 1 with an internal portion 3 dividing its lower part into a coaxial inlet and outlet, has a cylindrical filter 10 arranged in the inlet conduit so as to lie within the inner casing 3 which carries the meter mechanism 8, and between this latter and the sealing surfaces 7 for a pipe-line connector. A by-pass opening 12 in the inner casing 3 is adjustable by means of a calibrating screw 13.
