Abstract
787,334. Lamp-holders. BAUER, H., EUL, H., and GUNTHER, H. Oct. 1, 1954 [Oct. 5, 1953), No. 28317/54. Class 38 (1). A push-in type lamp-holder has a number of radially-extending blades 12 pivotally mounted at the mouth of the body 1 so as to be deflected inwardly of the body by insertion of a screwthreaded lamp cap, whereupon they engage the threads to retain the cap in the holder, the lamp .being removed by unscrewing in the normal manner. The blades are urged to their inoperative or horizontal position, in which they form a shield, by an annular spring 14 engaging projections 13 on the blades, each blade also having lateral projections 11 seating in recesses 7 in an annular plate 7 to form a pivot. A ring 15 retains the projections in position. In a modification, Fig. 4a, the end of each blade 12 has a slot 19 engaged by a projection 20 on the ring 17 to form a pivot. Other methods of mounting the blades are by bending the ends over a wire ring or fixing transverse pins at the ends to replace projections 11. In Fig. 5, the projections 11 engage recesses 23 in the sides of spaced projections 22 on an annular ring 21. According to a further modification (Fig. 7, not shown), the blades are integral with an annular ring, the assembly being sufficiently flexible to permit the necessary movement of the blades.
