Abstract
786,527. Work benches. MILLWARD, C. S. April 11, 1956 [May 17, 1955], No. 14170/55. Class 61. A work table or stand has a rotatable top with means for locking the top in various positions about its axis of rotation and a movable support below the top which may occupy different positions to present supporting surfaces at different levels. As shown a stand comprises corner posts 1 secured to a square plate 2 to which a plate 4 is rotatably secured by a pivot bolt 3, the plate 4 being supported on steel balls located in countersunk openings in the plate 2. A locking lever 6 pivoted to one of the posts is connected to a plunger which is adapted to enter selectively in holes 8 in the plate 4. The support 12 comprises a rightangled member movable around a pivot axis 10 supported on stays 9 extending between the posts 1. The support may rest on the ledge 13 or against a cross bar removably placed on clips or clamps 16 on the front corner posts. A footoperated lever 14 is provided for moving the support from the position in which it rests on the ledge 13 to either of the other two positions
