A side-delivery rake, of the type comprising a frame 1 provided with an oblique series of rake-wheels 2A-9A driven by ground-contact, is characterized in that at least one of the rake-wheels supports part of the weight of the frame. In Fig. 1, the rake-wheels are mounted symmetrically along a beam 1 on axles 2-9 fixed rigidly to the frame which may be drawn in the direction of either of the arrows 16 or 16B by means of a pivoted drawbar 11 swingable from side to side of the frame. The drawbar is secured by a stay 12 of such a length that the inoperative row of rake wheels rotate idly parallel to the line of draught. The frame 1 may also be pushed longitudinally by a manually-guided tractor 17. Both sets of rake-wheels then deliver laterally in opposite directions and the front of the frame is supported by a serrated wheel 24 mounted in a spring-loaded pivoted fork 23. In Fig. 2, the frame comprises convergent beams 30, 31 each carrying a line of rake wheels 34A-41A, the foremost of which are mounted on fixed axles 34-37 and the remainder on cranks 38-41. The whole frame rotates about a vertical axis through the tractor 33 between the two normal positions of sidedelivery ; in the third, central, position, the front of the frame is supported by a detachable wheel 42 on a crank 43, this wheel normally occupying the foremost position 42B on the beam 31.
