Abstract
1,038,457. Haymaking machines. C. VAN DER LELY N.V. March 26, 1963 [April 4, 1962], No.11997/63. Heading A1F. A haymaking machine, adapted to be attached to a tractor, comprises two pairs of rake members 2, 3 and 4, 5, each member including a sleeve 9 rotatably mounted on a shaft rigidly attached to a frame beam 1, and wheels 23, 24 attached to the outermost rigid shafts 6 and 18. Each rake member comprises four vanes 12 spaced. by 90 degrees about the sleeve, each vane carrying tines 14. The rake members are driven from a tractor p.t.o. shaft via shafts 51, 21 and gearing 49, 52, 22 and 10. Each wheel is mounted on its associated shaft for pivotal movement about a vertical axis 28 (Fig. 3, not shown). A plate 31 is secured to each vertical axis, and the associated wheel can be fixed in a position relative to the beam by means of a pin 34 which passes through apertures in this plate and in a bracket 33. The machine further comprises a draw-bar 43 pivotable about a vertical axis 44 so that the bar can be fixed relative to the beam 1 by passing a pin 47 through a selected aperture 46 of plate 45 and through a bore in the bar. The plate 45 forms a part of a coupling member 38 (Fig. 3, not shown) which is pivotably adjustable about a horizontal axis 39.
