Class 52(5) In a display model a universal joint between an upper part representing the bust and shoulders and a lower stand or leg portion comprises a part-spherical member having means for supporting the upper part, a sleeve secured to the leg portion and corresponding in shape to the partspherical member and a spring attached to the part-spherical member and to a member in the leg portion to draw the. part-spherical member into firm contact with the sleeve so that the upper part is retained in the position in which it is set. As shown, a socket 4, mounted on a cross bar 3 in the hollow upper part of the model, is clamped by a screw 5 at any desired position along a post 6 welded to a flange 7 secured to a part-spherical wood block 8. The block 8 engages in a sleeve 10 fitted in a disc 11 fixed to the hollow leg portion and is held in firm frictional contact with the sleeve by a spring 12. In a modification the lower stand portion does not represent part of a human figure.
