A rocking chair comprises a chassis 1 connected for movement to a fixed base 2 through front springs 7<SP>1</SP>a, 7a and rear springs 7<SP>1</SP>b, 7b, the springs being connected together at points between their ends by a spring 10. A tenon and socket connection 5, 6 is provided between the chassis 1 and base 2.
