779,660. Interfitting joints. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. July 8, 1955 [July 14, 1954], No. 20542/54. Class 20(2) [Also in Group XXIX] In a joint between two parts having interfitting end portions, at least one of the parts has a groove filled with a hot-curing or coldcuring resin. As shown, the parts 1 and 3 of resin impregnated glass cloth, have abutting surfaces 5, 9 and 13, and 7, 11 and 15 respectively, and annular grooves 17 and 19 respectively, the resin being poured into an inclined feed passage 21 to displace air through a passage 23 while the edges of the joining surfaces are covered by adhesive tape. 'The annular' grooves 17, 19 may be replaced by spiral grooves. The joint is between two parts 1, 3 of an aircraft fuel tank.
