Abstract

728,929. Barrels; boxes. PLASTIC BARREL CORPORATION. Oct. 23, 1952 [Oct. 25, 1951], No. 26640/52. Classes 18 and 21. [Also in Group V] A barrel, box &c. having ends integral with the side walls is formed of layers joined by a binder, each layer comprising moulded sections the joining edges of which are in a different plane from those of adjacent layers. Barrels may be formed substantially as described in Specification 666,252 but differing in that the joints 6, 7, 8, 9 of the sections are butt, as shown, or scarf joints so that no thickening of the barrel wall occurs. The exterior of the barrel may have an overlapping cover 23a, 23b of glass fibre fabric. Examples of suitable binders and adhesives for impregnating and securing the layers are given. The containers may be cylindrical or rectangular and the planes of the joining edges may be at angles to each other in adjoining layers.
