Abstract

774,707. Strap fastenings; screw fastenings. GOLDSTAUB, H. H. Aug. 22, 1955 [Aug. 26, 1954], No. 24850/54. Class 44. [Also in Group XL (a)] In a valve retainer of the type in which a harness 1 is looped over the valve, the harness having spring ties 7, 8 at each end, each tie has screwed into it a threaded spigot, the spigots ending in shanks 11, 12 which are secured in holes in the chasss.i The spigots are shown in more detail in Fig. 4. 13 is a threaded rod. representing the shanks 11, 12, and having a slotted end 14. On this is mounted a nut 15; locked in position by punching the inner end of the slot, and then a washer 16. Finally a plastic collar 17 is moulded in position round the slotted end of the rod. This collar has a threaded end 18 which screws into the spring tie 7, 8. The other end of the rod 13 passes through a hole in a chassis 21, and is secured by a nut 22. The nut 15 may be unitary with the rod 13, or the whole spigot may be a single moulded plastic member. The Provisional Specification describes a further form in which a plastic threaded bush screws into the spring tie, the bush being internally tapped for receiving the shank.
