772,863. Hooks. MASSEY-HARRIS-FERGUSON (SALES), Ltd. Nov. 23, 1953 [April 11, 1951], No. 8386/51. Class 89 (2). [Also in Group XXX] A hook 51 used in a hay-sweep actuating - mechanism (see Group XXX), has a chain-retaining spring- ring 52 engaging holes 55 in the hook-shank. The ring is an open one with off-set overlapping ends engaging the respective holes 55, the normal resting position being with the mean plane of the ring perpendicular to the plane of the holes, so that after displacement of the ring to allow entry of a chain-link into the hook, the ring will spring back to the position shown.
