Abstract

772,537. Electrically propelled vehicles. SHARP, J. R., and KAYE, E. Feb. 8, 1955 [Feb. 8, 1954], No. 3596/54. Class 79(3). [Also in Group XXX] A battery case is mounted on a shelf on an electrically driven pallet truck so that it can be raised with the shelf and be unloaded from the shelf by lowering onto legs that detachably engage the case and stand clear of the truck. The reverse process loads the case on the truck. In the drawing the battery case 18 has pockets 20 on each side which project over the ends of the shelf 17 on which the case is mounted and receive tongues 22 on the legs 23. The battery case and motor of the truck are inter-connected by a cable of sufficient length to enable the truck to be driven away from underneath the battery case when this has been unloaded. Shelf 17 rises and falls with the lift forks 11.
