Abstract

772,500. Thermal switches. SIGNALSTAT CORPORATION. Aug. 10, 1954 [Aug. 18, 1953], No. 23178/54. Class 38(5) . A snap action electric switch similar to that described in Specification 762,045 which utilises a snap acting vane member disclosed in Specification 761,713 [Group XXXII] is provided with a further pair of co-operating contacts so as to function as a change-over switch to alternately energize two load circuits. A snap acting vane 10 snaps between two positions in one of which positions, the stress deformed position, contacts 25, 35 are closed to energize a signal lamp SL-1 over the vane mounting member 20 and the heat expansible element 30. When the element 30 has expanded sufficiently to allow the vane 10 to snap over to its initial preset position contacts 25, 35 are opened and contacts 55, 60 closed. A signal lamp SL-2 is now energized over the vane mounting member 20 and the. vane 10. Contact 35 is carried by the heat expansible element 30 whilst contact 55 is carried by the vane 10.
