771,699. Shearing. JACKSON, Ltd., A. N., and JACKSON, A. N. Sept. 21, 1955 [Sept. 23, 1954], No. 27485/54. Class 83 (4). In a machine for shearing a tube C having fixed and movable external blades A<SP>1</SP>, D, respectively, with apertures to receive the tube C and fixed, and movable internal disc-like blades A<SP>2</SP>, D<SP>1</SP>, respectively, which pass inside the tube C, the external moving blade D is actuated through an arm E<SP>2</SP> by an eccentric and transmits the movement to the internal moving blade D<SP>1</SP> through the tube C. The tube C is supported on rollers and on a support b. The internal fixed blade A<SP>2</SP> is secured to a shaft A<SP>3</SP> and the internal moving blade D<SP>1</SP> is loosely mounted on a spindle A<SP>4</SP> secured to the shaft A<SP>3</SP>, a spring- loaded collar d<SP>3</SP> serving to locate the internal moving blade D<SP>1</SP>. The external moving blade D may be connected by arms E<SP>3</SP>, E<SP>2</SP>, Fig. 4, to two actuating eccentrics E<SP>1</SP>, E. One eccentric is rotated through a complete revolution to shear opposite sides of the tube C and then the other eccentric is likewise rotated to shear the uncut portions of the tube. In a modification the internal moving blade D<SP>1</SP> is secured to a spindle which is supported by hand. Specification 677,107 is referred to.
