Abstract

767,825. Dispensing measured quantities of granular material WHITWORTH, G. Jan. 21, 1955 [Oct. 21, 1953], No. 29047/53. Class 106 (5). A carton for granular material, such as soap powder or detergent, has an internal pocket 25 with inlet and outlet apertures 26, 27 whereby a predetermined quantity of the material may be dispensed, the carton being made from a single blank of cardboard so contrived that when the blank is folded and secured together by adhesive the pocket 25 is formed at the top of the carton. The bottom of the carton is formed by turning in tabs 17, 21, 28 and 29 while the pocket is formed by spaced tabs 11 and 23 integral with opposite side walls of the carton, a tab 24 forming an extension to the tab 23 serving to close the space between the tab 11 and the top of the carton. The outlet aperture 27 may be closed by a removable strip of paper.
