Abstract
766,931. Transformers. SAPLIS, Z. Sept. 27, 1955 [Oct. 9, 1954], No. 29155/54. Class 38 (2). A transformer comprises a plurality of laminated fixed core elements 11, 12 which cooperate with a movable core element 13 such that by movement of the element 13 the flux distribution in the fixed core elements 11, 12 can be varied, at least one winding, for example 16, being provided on the movable element 13 whilst a winding, for example 17, is provided on at least one of the fixed core elements. The fixed core elements are generally U-shaped, the free ends of the limbs of each yoke being arranged adjacent the free ends of the limbs of another yoke. The limbs of the yokes and the ends of the movable core element are formed with corresponding arcuate grooves 15, 14 respectively. More than two fixed core elements may be provided and the windings may be connected together in any desired manner.
