[Also in Group XIV] A motor vehicle is provided with a loadsupporting platform comprising a fixed rear part 1 and a hinged forward part 2 extending to a collapsible rear seat 5, the forward part having an extension piece 12 hinged thereto at 13, and provided with a cushion 14, the arrangement being such that the part 2 can be raised about the hinges 3 to enable the extension piece to be brought into an aligned forwardly projecting position, the forward platform part 2 and extension piece 12 then being lowered on to the collapsed seat 5 to constitute with the fixed part 1, a bed, with the cushion 14 serving as a head rest. When the seat 5 is to be used to carry passengers, the platform part 2 is turned up into a rearwardly inclined position against stops, the extension piece 12 is turned inwardly so that the cushion 14 is adjacent a cushion 15, and the seat 5 is turned about pivots 7 into a horizontal position. The seat 5 is supported by a fixed bracket 17. The platform part 2, extension piece 12 and collapsible seat 5 may each be divided longitudinally so that one half of these parts may be used to form a bed while the remaining half provides seating accommodation for a passenger.
