Abstract
765,269. Labelling machines. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP MACHINEFABRIEK VOORHEEN JANSEN & SUTORIUS. Feb. 23, 1955 [Feb. 24, 1954], No. 5492/55. Class 73. Two laterally spaced endless belts 4, running intermittently between upper and lower pulleys 7, 8 and receiving gum from a gumming device 9, pick up and bring a label 12 into the path of a bottle 1 on a conveyer 2 running between the belts 4, the latter being deflected by the bottle which takes up the label. At the side where the bottles enter the space between the belts 4, the belts run on stationary guides 14 which deflect the belts to facilitate passage of the bottles. Only the inner edges of the belts 4 may be deflected, such deflection being facilitated by the provision of longitudinal grooves 5 in the belts. Two or more parallel conveyers for the bottles may be provided each cooperating with a pair of gumming belts, and the adjacent belts of two pairs of belts may then be combined to one single belt which is deflected at both edges.
