Class 20(1) The ends of the girders of floating bridges are adjusted to the same level for bolting together by providing bolts 7 and 8 in coupling plates 5, 6 of adjacent ends, and placing over the projecting bolt ends, stirrups 8, 10 which are pulled towards each other by a screw spindle 11. Thereby abutting plates 12 are pulled to the same level so that a conical stud 13 projecting from each plate 12 engages in a conical hole in the opposing plate, to hold the ends together:
