Abstract

760,421. Transformers. FORTIPHONE, Ltd. March 16, 1955 [March 17, 1954], No. 7815/64. Class 38 (2). An electric transformer or inductor having a laminated iron core 10 and a U-shaped metal member 14 of channel section partly embracing the core 10, has at least part of the U - shaped metal member coated with a thin layer of resin, the transformer or inductor being embedded in a block of resin which extends up to, but not over, the U- shaped member, the arrangement being such that the layer of resin and the block of resin adhere together to form a continuous coating for the component. The resins used may be of the epoxy kinds. The component is mounted on a panel by means of the extensions 15 of the U-shaped member, the member being arranged to clamp the laminations of the core 10.
