Abstract

758,324. Treating textile fibres. SPINNFASER AKT.-GES. Dec. 8, 1954 [Dec. 9, 1953], No. 35560/54. Class 120 (3). [Also in Group XIII] A wet staple fibre fleece 1 is opened out prior to drying in a drier 9 by passage over a spiked roller 6 while compressed air is supplied to nozzles 7 and directed on to the fleece at an angle. Squeezing rollers reduce the moisture in the fleece and the roller 6 has holes 11 in its periphery through which air is extracted by suction by means of a negative pressure pipe 12 having a slot 13. The speed of roller 6 may be greater than the rate of feed of the fleece.
