1,247,283. Opening fibres for open end spinning machines. VYZKUMNY USTAV BAVLNARSKY. 4 Sept., 1969 [13 Dec., 1968], No. 43763/69. Headings DID and D1N. Fibres 5 passing from a combing out roller 2 to a spinning chamber 6 via a channel 4 change direction about an acute angle at the point 14 on entering the channel. The surface of combing out roller 2 projecting into channel 4 is arranged to move oppositely to the air stream in channel 4 which is produced either by the reduced pressure in chamber 6 or by high pressure at opening 41. The distance B from the edge 14 to the slip wall 61 is at least equal to the average staple length of the fibres.
