[Also ir Group X] A stay bar 14, for a case ment 4 hinged about its lower edge for movement through a limited sector, is turnable within an eye formed in a plate 15 secured to the upper member of a fixed frame 1 and passes through an opening in a plate 16 fixed to the inner top edge of the casement frame, notches 17 being provided along one longitudinal edge of the bar for selective engagement with the edge of the opening in the plate 16 to hold the casement in the desired open positoin. The bar can be folded down, when the window is shut, the notch nearest the free end of the bar being engaged with a pin 18 on the casement frame 4 to securely close the window.
